Yorkshire gliding club

We have been flying. Join the ‘mile high’ club. Staff in the office very friendly and welcoming, paperwork sorted within minutes, had a cof.


The airfield site is miles (km) east of Thirsk along the A1road and just south of the National Park visitors centre at Sutton Bank.

What is a friendly Gliding Club? Offering full-time professional instruction in a fleet of modern gliders. Club Development and Resources. During the summer, we offer residential gliding courses and can arrange corporate visits and group flying.


Our on-site café is open to the public as well as members and provides drinks, snacks and lunches most days. For the none flyer you can have a trial lesson with one of the instructors, which is the way I started flying!
