What does a car service involve

What is a car service? How often should I have my car serviced? A car service is a health check with routine maintenance for your vehicle which assesses everything from your engine’s fluid levels to the general wear and tear of your car.

A service is usually undertaken by a mechanic and the most in-depth of them involve around or more system and component checks, adjustments and parts replacement. A regular car service checks the condition of your car.

It can assess everything from general wear and tear to fluids, brakes, the engine, and more. Each service is different depending on your vehicle’s make and model. An interim service is the most basic level of car service which will get you a stamp in your service book and the car ’s service clock reset, if applicable. The oil and oil filter will be change some additional safety checks will be made and some moving parts will be lubricated. It is recommended that you have a full car service after every 10miles or once per year, whichever occurs sooner.

More regular car users should have an interim service carried out in between full services (every months or 0miles). Does my car need an interim, full or major service ?
